Go West Sweater Knitting Pattern (English)

Go West Sweater English

About the model
The Go West Sweater features a deep V-neck, an eyelet pattern and diagonal ridges. The fit is cropped with batwing sleeves - the length can easily be adjusted, as the sweater is worked from the top down.

Stitches are cast on for one side of the back, where increases are worked towards the neck and extra stitches are cast on in stages towards the sleeve using the backward loop cast-on - so the back and sleeve are worked in one piece. The other side of the back is worked in the same way and joined with the backward loop cast-on at the back of the neck. The entire wingspan of the sweater is thus gathered on one needle, and the work is worked back and forth in rows while the sleeves are shaped. Stitches are cast off in stages along the underside of the sleeve, and finally rows of decreases are worked to shape the end of the batwing sleeve. The front is worked in the same way, while at the same time shaping the v-neck with increases. The front and back are then joined, and the body is worked in the round and finished with a twisted rib edge. The front and back are sewn or crocheted together along the seam on the underside and upper side of the sleeve - across the shoulder. Stitches are then picked up along the neck and the lower edge of the sleeve, and twisted rib edges are worked.
