Formation Dress Knitting Pattern (English)
Formation Dress is an ankle-length model with a loose fit, long sleeves, wide ribbed edges and a slit on each side surrounded by double-knit edges. The rib at the neck edge is either worked as a folded edge or as a turtleneck.
The dress is worked from the top down. First the neckline is shaped by working back and forth while increasing the number of stitches, both around the shoulder stitch and with increases towards the neck. Then work in the round until all shoulder increases have been worked. Now divide the work into front and back pieces so that armholes can be made on each side. After the armholes, join again and work in the round. At the bottom, the work is divided again, creating a slit on each side, which is knitted with double knit stitches on each side. The bottom of the dress is also finished with double knit edges. The sleeves are worked from the top down. Pick up stitches along the armhole edge and work the sleeve in the round with decreases on the underside. Finish with a ribbed trim.
Choice of size
The model has a positive ease of 15-20 cm. This means that you should choose the size measuring 15-20 cm more than your chest circumference. If your chest measures 96 cm, you should choose a size M (113 cm circumference).
