Ma Cherie Bon Bon Sweater Light Knitting Pattern (English)

Ma Cherie Bon Bon Sweater Light is worked sideways from the sleeve towards the centre of the body in one piece. As an extension of the sleeve, a side panel is made that unites the front and back piece. Stitches are knitted up on each side of this panel, so that you can knit back and forth across the front and back piece, while at the same working increases on the  shoulder, so that a sloping shoulder is formed at the front. Finally, it is divided into front and back pieces, and the neckline is shaped like a boat neckline. When the work is half way on the body, the stitches are put on hold while the other half is made in the same way. Finally, join the two halves together using Kitchener stitches. An I-cord is worked along the neckline and bottom of the body for a nice finish.

This video shows a little more about the construction of the sweater:

Choice of size

The model has a positive ease of 10-15 cm on sizes XS-L and of 5-10 on sizes XL-XXXL. This means you should choose a size measuring 10-15/5-10 cm more than your chest circumference. If your chest measures 96 cm, you should choose a size M with a circumference of 109 cm. As the model is worked sideways from the sleeve to the centre of the body, you also have to measure the span from the root of each hand. The written pattern explains how to adjust the instructions to fit your measurements both regarding span and length of the body - but you have to make adjustments to the amount of yarn being used yourself.
